Tip:U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Gerber in New York ended a hearing on the proposed sale without indicating when he would make a ruling. GM lawyer Stephen Karotkin told Gerber he planned to deliver a revised sale order, including changes to resolve objections, by tomorrow, for the judge to consider.
Q:Can you tell us the details about the hearing?
A:Yes.During the three-day hearing, GM sought to persuade Gerber that the sale to U.S. Treasury-funded Vehicle Acquisition Holdings LLC was the only choice available to the Detroit-based company other than liquidation.
Some GM bondholders, consumer claimants and unionized retirees who are losing their health benefits objected to the sale, saying that GM would be the same company stripped of many of its liabilities and that such a restructuring should be done with a Chapter 11 plan on which creditors could vote.
Q:What does the measures of Obama administration?
A:Richman said the Obama administration, which already has loaned GM more than $27 billion, forced the company to seek a sale and wouldn’t let GM liquidate if Gerber rejected the deal. The judge should require a traditional reorganization plan to be filed, he said.

Q:What are the differences between the 2010 Honda Insight and other new hybrid cars?
A:The Honda Hybrid is thousands of dollars cheaper, gets comparable fuel economy, has a crisper look and provides a more agile and enjoyable ride. The vehicle has already racked up independent real-world highway fuel economy tests above 60 miles to the gallon. Several car owners have been able to match or exceed the EPA’s original fuel economy estimates.
Q:How does Honda increase the fuel efficiency?
A:One key in increasing the fuel efficiency on the Honda Insight was reducing the mass via the extensive use of aluminum and plastic. The Honda Hybrid’s flat underbody and strategically placed air-flow control strakes reduce drag and increase fuel economy. The estimated combined fuel economy according to EPA testing methodology is 41 miles per gallon.
There’s an ECON mode that enhances fuel economy further by resetting the control logic, so the Insight accelerates more slowly and backs off the gas engine quicker. The digital displays on the dashboard display fuel consumption instantaneously. The electronics in the control system is part of Honda’s Eco Assist system, which informs the driver’s economical driving habits by changing the background color of the speedometer.
The Honda Hybrid electric motor provides additional power during deceleration and acts as a generator to recharge the batteries. This is done by using a process called regenerative braking that charges the batteries with up to 50 Amps of current. In addition, the green car has a computer control module regulates how much power comes from the internal combustion engine. Read the rest of this entry »

It is from Japan, the same as Toyota and Honda.
It was renamed to Kwaishinsha Motorcar Co. in 1918, and again to DAT Motorcar Co. in 1925. DAT Motors built trucks in addition to the DAT and Datsun passenger cars. The vast majority of its output was trucks, as there was almost no consumer market for cars at the time. Beginning in 1918, the first DAT trucks were produced for the military market. It was the low demand of the military market in the 1920s that forced DAT to merge in 1926 with Japan’s 2nd most successful truck maker, Jitsuyo Motors.

In my view ,Toyota is bigger than Mazda –From Japan.Because I can see more Toyota brands in China, but I do not know if it is ture for other countries.
Toyota started in 1933 as a division of Toyoda Automatic Loom Works devoted to the production of automobiles under the direction of the founder’s son, Kiichiro Toyoda. Its first vehicles were the A1 passenger car and the G1 in 1935. Toyota Motor Co. was established as an independent and separate company in 1937.
Toyota Motor Corporation is a multinational corporation headquartered in Japan, and is currently the world’s largest automaker. Toyota employs approximately 316,000 people worldwide.
In 1934, while still a department of Toyota Industries, it created its first product Type A engine and in 1936 its first passenger car the Toyota AA. The company was eventually founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937 as a spinoff from his father’s company Toyota Industries to create automobiles. Toyota also owns and operates Lexus and Scion brands and has a majority shareholding stake in Daihatsu and Hino Motors, and minority shareholdings in Fuji Heavy Industries, Isuzu Motors, and Yamaha Motors. The company includes 522 subsidiaries. Read the rest of this entry »

This brand is not very famous in China. The market of China is so big that nearly all famous brand cars sold in China mainland.KIA is not popular as the brand such as Ford ,GM.So I did not see many cars when I was in China.
According to Kia Motors, the name “Kia” derives from the Sino-Korean words ki (”to come out”) and a (which stands for Asia), it is roughly translated as “arise or come up out of Asia” or “rising out of Asia”.
South Korea’s oldest car company, Kia was founded in 1944 as manufacturer of steel tubing and bicycles. In 1952, Kia changed its name from Kyungsung Precision Industry, and later built motorcycles, trucks and cars. Starting in 1986, in partnership with Ford, Kia produced several Mazda derived vehicles for both domestic sales in South Korea and exports into other countries. These models include the Pride (based on the Mazda 121) and Avella, which were sold in North America and Australasia as the Ford Festiva and Ford Aspire.
In 1992, Kia Motors America was incorporated in the United States. The first Kia-branded vehicles in the United States were sold from four dealerships in Portland, Oregon in February 1994. Since then, Kia expanded methodically one region at a time. Dealers in 1994 sold the Sephia, and a few years later the United States line expanded with the addition of the Sportage.
However, Kia’s bankruptcy in 1997, part of the Asian financial crisis, resulted in 51% of the company being acquired in 1998 by South Korean rival Hyundai Motor Company, outbidding Ford Motor Company which had owned an interest in Kia Motors since 1986. Subsequently, however, Hyundai has divested some of its ownership of Kia Motors, and currently Hyundai Kia Automotive Group owns less than 40% of the company. Read the rest of this entry »

I thought it was a brand from USA……
During 2007, Mazda produced almost 1.3 million vehicles for global sales. The majority of these (nearly 1 million) were produced in the company’s Japanese plants, with the remainder coming from a variety of other plants worldwide.
Mazda began as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd, founded in Japan in 1920. Toyo Cork Kogyo renamed itself to Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd. in 1927. Toyo Kogyo moved from manufacturing machine tools to vehicles, with the introduction of the Mazda-Go in 1931. Toyo Kogyo produced weapons for the Japanese military throughout the Second World War, most notably the series 30 through 35 Type 99 rifle. The company formally adopted the Mazda name in 1984, though every automobile sold from the beginning bore that name. The Mazda R360 was introduced in 1960, followed by the Mazda Carol in 1962.
Since 2000, Mazda has used the phrase “Zoom-Zoom” to describe what it calls the “emotion of motion” that it claims is inherent in its cars.Extremely successful and long-lasting (when compared to other automotive marketing taglines), the Zoom-Zoom campaign has now spread around the world from its initial use in North America. I still remember that the first car was made by Henry Ford(I read it on the history book).I can see many Ford cars running on the street in China when I was 16 years old.I can sure that there are more Ford cars in China.
Ford’s presence in Asia has traditionally been much smaller, confined to Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Taiwan, where Ford has had a joint venture with Lio Ho since the 1970s. Ford began assembly of cars in Thailand in 1960, but withdrew from the country in 1976, and did not return until 1995, when it formed a joint venture with Mazda called Auto Alliance.
Ford India began production in 1998 with its Ford Escort model, which was later replaced by locally produced Ford Ikon in 2001. It has since added Fusion, Fiesta, Mondeo and Endeavour to its product line.
In 2007, Ford fell from the second-ranked automaker to the third-ranked automaker in US sales for the first time in 56 years, behind General Motors and Toyota. Based on 2007 global sales, Ford fell to the fourth-ranked spot behind Volkswagen. By 2009, Ford had become the second largest automaker in Europe (only behind Volkswagen), with large markets in the United Kingdom and Germany and sales that exceed those in the United States. Ford is the seventh-ranked overall American-based company in the 2008 Fortune 500 list, based on global revenues in 2008 of $146.3 billion. In 2008, Ford produced 5.532 million automobiles and employed about 213,000 employees at around 90 plants and facilities worldwide. Starting in 2007, Ford received more initial quality survey awards from J. D. Power and Associates than any other automaker. Five of Ford’s vehicles ranked at the top of their categories and fourteen vehicles ranked in the top three.
